Versal: Versal (Music Review)

By: Rob Perez –

When you listen to Versal’s self-title debut EP, you’ll find it hard to believe it’s his first release. But Javier Velez has been involved with music for a long time. In fact, many might say the musical prodigy was born to do music.

Versal has a very ethereal, thematic sound, more like a movie score than anything people are used to hearing. This EP stands out in that it sounds like nothing out today—it’s not pop, rock, jazz—but a nice blend of unforgettable, pleasant sounds. It’s also very melodic.

If one had to classify it, it would more closely be related to New Age but with a classical bent to it. Really, what we recommend is to be ready to listen to a whole new musical listening experience. You won’t be able to stop listening to Versal once you’re engrossed in it.
