Rose Ann Dimalanta Trio: It’s Time (Music Review)

By: Rob Perez –

When you begin listening to the Rose Ann Dimalanta Trio’s It’s Time album, what you won’t get is traditional jazz. Instead, you’ll get a jazz fusion of genres—from rock, funk, soul and Latin— which is exactly what the Rose Ann Dimalanta Trio has been known for, defying musical expectations and delivering really sleek, original music.

Musically, it’s solid all around. It’s what gets you going and moving. And these 12 tracks have plenty of that to get you to that point. Vocally, Rose Ann Dimalanta’s voice is fierce and sexy.

Beginning with “Forever Day By Day”, this bluesy tune sets the tone of It’s Time. It’s a ballad dedicated to the man who has captured her heart.

“10 Miles To Empty” gives us the soul of the album, sprinkled with funky jazz, while jams like “Miles”, “Truly Love Someone”, and “That’s All” are inspired love and reaching for the stars.

There’s plenty good stuff on It’s Time, so if you’re looking for something fresh, then it’s time to grab a copy of this latest musical effort by the Rose Ann Dimalanta Trio.
