Drawing inspiration from riding the rails from Vancouver to Toronto, Norine Braun’s Through Train Windows beautifully captures the beauty and spirit of Canada and its people, respectively, in this 13 track collection. From the moment you begin listening, up until the very end, Through Train Windows will absolutely capture you, much the same way Braun’s cross-country trip through her native Canada grabbed her.
Spending much of 2017 traveling through Canada, Through Train Windows was also inspired by the country’s scenic wonders from end to end. This is what you hear; one can even say Through Train Windows is a love letter to Canada, celebrating all its natural wonders.
From its opening acoustic track “Sleeping Buffalo”, the folksy country western tune amazingly sets the tone for the album. The bluesy “Climbing Table Mountain” has a lot of edge to it, a statement of some sort Norine is trying to say. A little more than halfway thru, “Oh Canada” is the country’s anthem set in a very modern, feel good way. The closing track “Through Train Windows” is a dedication in song about all the beauty its natural wonders have to offer.
Simply put, you’ll love the album and give it more than a listen. And if it also inspires you to visit our neighbors up north, Canada has no greater visitor advertisement than Through Train Windows.
