New DVD Releases: October 9th
By: Henry J. Fromage –
As always, there’s plenty of strange titles in the Direct to DVD bin this week, but some are trying a bit too hard (Mancation?). Nope, I think there’s a clear winner… Nacho Mountain. Man, I hope that’s a real place, and if it is I’m booking tix, stat.
Prometheus –
Expectations were probably a bit crazy on this one, but for my money it was worth a couple of viewings to try to untangle, and posterity may be kinder to it. Frankie B. quite liked it as well.
Rock of Ages -
This had all the earmarks of a surprise musical hit, and Tom Cruise apparently delivers a magnetic performance, but just about everything else about this film was a letdown. BabyRuth breaks it down.
The Raven -
Man, oh man was this a dud. The Cinephiliac will tell you all about it.
A Cat in Paris -
Calling this surprise Oscar nominee a feature film, at less than an hour of runtime, is a bit of a stretch, but SG2 liked it well enough. Worth a watch.
