*insert Russian accent here* Good day comrades! So you here to read about movie Chernobyl Diaries. For those not know, Chernobyl was site of major nuclear meltdown in 1986. To this day, large amounts of radiation are present and site still restricted.
Movie about four American tourists and two Aussies that want tour of area. Tour obviously no go well, or this wouldn’t be horror movie.
Highlight of movie came in middle. About a 20 minute sequence where the group is running through contaminated areas, trying to survive. It’s the section where all creepy stuff starts to happen. Shadows, silhouettes, and shots fired.
“This part of tour only awkward if you make it awkward”
To script. Only thing more predictable than movie was every word said. Now Dead Guy here is not often picky of script, but exception to that this is.
Ending was…how you say…”cop out”. It takes easy way out for explanation like Indiana Jones in Crystal Skull. No creativity. It’s almost what you expect to happen, but hope not. Make sense?
In hindsight, a group mauling by animals right here would have made for a better movie…or just shorter and not as bad.
My first thought after seeing movie is that it’s really Hills Have Eyes atChernobyl. Story is played out in movies. I went into movie with low expectations, hoping for wow. Instead, I get what I expected.
