First film I EVER went to see at the movies, thanks mummy, xxx! An awesome film, with awesome on-liners, with awesome characters, but such a cheap-arse ending it made me wanna throw my popcorn at the screen and stomp up and down!!!! I had run all outta popcorn, but I did throw a fit!!
The film is about the evil Lord Vader looking for the Rebel Alliance to destroy them!! Well, that’s about it, a couple of chase scenes, a lightsaber fight, and of course some kissing.
I could go on and on about the amazing score, the great directing, the story that has stood the test of time, the love story that transcends dimensions, but if you haven’t seen The Empire Strikes Back then I am ashamed to be living in the same Universe as you. It’s people like you that helped get Firefly cancelled!!!
As far as a movie review, two thumbs WAY up, 10/10, movies aren’t made like this any more, 5 star rating… etc. This film was the meat filling for an epic space sandwich, the cream for the Star Wars Donut. The only issue I have with the movie is that they freeze our intergalactic crush in carbonite, then finish the movie!! Now this is back when sequels took AGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS to come out, so it may have been in a galaxy far, far away but I was one pissed-off 8 year old kid!!!
This will be the one-liner drinking game, in which every time you hear a one-liner that has been used in this movie you Do a Shot as well as for every other movie/TV show that has used that line (I will give you some help).
“I love you, I know (classic line, classic) – Do a Shot, one for Han, Chewie, and Leia
“I am your father!!! (also Do a Shot for at least Toy Story and The Simpsons!!)
“Never tell me the odds” (swoon…)
“I’ll be back” (Do a Shot for Leia, Do at least one Shot for the Terminator!!)
“You will be….you will be” (Do at least one Shot to get over creepy Yoda!)
“As you wish” (why is Bobba Fett so popular??)
“You like me because I’m a scoundrel” (yes, yes we do)
I could go on, but you might end up drunk and re-enacting Leia and Han! Or worse, Luke and Yoda!
