Alcohollywood

Ever wanted to sit down and play a drinking game with your friends to your favorite or least favorite movie, but don’t really know what to drink to? Want a fancy cocktail that matches the film itself but don’t know what to make? Fret no more.

Alcohollywood is a weekly movie review/drinking games podcast, where hosts Clint and Jared come up with a new drinking game and custom cocktails each week for a new film.  Good or bad, old or new, no film is beyond their reach or scope. Each film gets three rules and a Finish Your Drink line – not enough to get you hospitalized, but just enough to get you thinking.

Here’s just a taste of what Alcohollywood has to offer with two of their most acclaimed episodes to date – the Oscars drinking game to The Tree of Life, and their drinking game to the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast!

OSCAR SPECIAL: THE TREE OF LIFE (2011)

LISTEN TO OUR REVIEW HERE!

THE DRINK: The Pretentia-saurus

The Pretentia-saurus
The Pretentia-saurus

2 parts green apple-flavored vodka

1 part white grape juice

2 parts ginger ale

Combine, stir, garnish with celery. (A simple drink for a complicated movie.)

RULES:

1) Drink every time you see the sun (two drinks if the sun is shining through something)

2) Drink every time you hear a hushed voiceover

3) Drink for surreal imagery (things that could not reasonably happen in reality, e.g. Jessica Chastain floating in the air)

FINISH YOUR DRINK WHEN:

Mrs. O’Brien’s (Jessica Chastain) friend says to her: “Life Goes On.”

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (1991)

LISTEN TO THE REVIEW AND RULES HERE!

THE DRINK: The Gray Stuff (NOTE: The drink itself is not gray, but it is most certainly delicious.)

The Grey Drink
The Gray Stuff

1 part French Lillet rouge

1 part pear cider

Rose petals

Muddle rose petals; mix with equal parts Lillet and cider in ice. Shake or stir. Pour into chilled wine glass, garnish with fresh rose petal.

RULES:
1) Drink anytime a cape is dramatically ‘swooshed’

2) Drink whenever the Beast (or Belle/Gaston) receives dating advice

3) Drink anytime someone speaks in French

FINISH YOUR DRINK WHEN:
Belle exclaims, “This is all my fault…” to a dying Beast.
