The bank has been broken on early-year Oscar hopefuls hitting DVD. Huzzah! Try and guess which one (and on a long shot, possible two). Hint: It’s not That’s My Boy.
Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted-
I keep hearing this was actually pretty decent, including from the right honorable Frank Cerros himself. Might finally be time to give this a watch.
Moonrise Kingdom-
One I have finally caught up with was Wes Anderson’s latest. I loved it, as did The Cinephiliac, who isn’t even an Andersonfan. Definitely hunt this one down if you haven’t already seen it.
That’s My Boy -
On the other hand… Sandler. While that name is a recipe for lowered expectations these days, Jake Peroni actually found some laughs in this one. Might be worth a rental.
Chernobyl Diaries -
Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli tried to bottle some more of that found footage magic with this one, but absolutely nobody cared. Livingdeadguy will tell you why.

I kept hearing that Madagascar 3 was pretty good too, so I decided to check it out. I watched the 3D version on my Hopper and it was well worth it. The 3D is most of the appeal though, so if you get the 2D it will be good, but it will feel like it is missing something the whole time. I think I might check out Moonrise Kingdom next. I hear a lot of good things about it in my office at DISH and if you as adamant about me hunting it down as you seem then I think I can find the time.
I still haven’t watched it yet, but it’s on my list now. As for Moonrise Kingdom, especially if you’ve enjoyed a Wes Anderson movie before, I can’t recommend it enough. Definitely give it a try.
