Not a ton to choose from this week, so let’s take a look at the burgeoning, always tantalizing Direct-to-DVD crop. Hey, they gotta be better than Piranha 3DD. Here we go: 1313:Frankenqueen, Caligula Reincarnated as Hitler, Death Laid an Egg, I Am Sartana Trade Your Guns, If You Meet Sartana Pray for Death, Jungle Virgin Force, Screaming in High Heels, Truck Stop Women… wait, all of this is confusing, disturbing porn, isn’t it? Yep, there’s Guys Gone Wild: Hottest Shooters Ever.
The Cabin in the Woods-
Livingdeadguy absolutely loved Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard’s irreverent deconstruction of horror movies… and I quite liked it myself. A definite recommendation.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel -
Crimebusterofthesea found this to be a mildly entertaining, fairly fluff old folks movie. Good enough for a watch, but if it gets any Oscar nominations, let the uproar commence…
The Babymakers -
Jake Peroni wanted to love this latest from the Broken Lizard crew… but he did not. He did not.
Chico and Rita -
On the other hand, Julio de Francisco hoped this Cuban animated film was as charming and beautiful as I told him it was… it was. I think he liked it even more than I did.
Detachment -
Speaking of anticipation, I had hoped that Tony Kaye’s first completed fictional film since American History X in 1998 was near that one’s excellence. It wasn’t. That’s not to say it’s not worth a watch, though. Just prepare for some melodrama.

Still waiting on that Caligula Reincarnated as Hitler review…
